Are you feeling stuck?

Maybe you're burnt out. Maybe you're doing lots of good work but questioning whether it's the right work. Maybe you’ve been to all the training but can’t seem to action anything. Maybe you’re not sure how to meet this moment in time- in your life, and in our shared history- in a way that serves best. Maybe you’re out of balance.

If this feels like you, and you're working for positive social change, whether that’s in a charity, a community group, a social enterprise, a for-purpose organisation, or simply in your own life and community, then this is for you.

The dots is launching a one-to-one coaching offer for people who want to come back to themselves as they make change in the world.

This is for people who want the space to work out how to inhabit the future we want to create now; a future that is based on intentionality, not reactivity, on co-operation, not competition, on balance, not extraction. On compassion and empathy, not greed and selfishness.

You might think you’re too busy, or that it won’t change anything. You might think it’s selfish to spend time on yourself when there’s so much to be done. You might think your needs aren’t worth paying for.

But these mindsets do not help us. They do not help us model the world we need to build. We need to practice new mindsets.

The process of how we do things is also the work we need to do.

Over seven sessions we'll work at your pace and in response to your needs. We'll explore what season you're in right now. We'll get into the soil of your values and purpose, what gives you meaning? What and who supports you to feel good? We'll make something like a collage, a playlist, a poem, a stone sculpture, a dreamscape. We’ll explore flow states and passions, and  we’ll talk about how inequality impacts on our mindsets, and what systemic challenges you face. And we'll look at what small, real, incremental steps look like when you go back into your world, so that we can live as though change is already here.

Ellie’s work and approach

My approach is trauma-informed, creative, and grounded in deep listening, drawing on Ikigai, feminist, post-traumatic growth frameworks, and the belief that you already hold the answers. My role is to help you find them.

I am influenced by writers such as Shawn Ginwright and Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone, and by a deep commitment to hope, joy, and relationships as tools of resistance. I’ve worked for social change all my professional life in lots of different roles; support worker, service delivery manager, policy, participation and campaigns, activist, communications and research.

I’m a mum, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a wife. I love dance routines and trashy books. I am a sociology and politics nerd. I am a whole person who has made mistakes and has learnt from them.

I, like you, am working for change. I, like you, was stuck- in despair, in burnout, in replicating the very systems of urgency and individualism that we are trying so hard to resist. I became unstuck, and have been running my own for purpose consultancy for the last six years, working in collaboration and community with amazing people doing amazing work. I hear time and time again how our systems are fractured and broken. We need to rebuild.

I bring more than 20 years of experience working alongside domestic abuse and rape survivors, vulnerable young people, and in leadership and management roles in the social change space.

My core values are love, creativity, curiosity and bravery. I bring these into my coaching practice; supporting you to build balance and harmony in your life by drawing on creative tools that work for you; a collage, a zine, a beach sculpture. For those of us making change; we are already brave. We are standing up for what we believe in and co-creating something different. We must turn that bravery towards ourselves with fierce self-compassion.
